Doggy Stars was created from Sirius's passion for dog training and animal behavior. As a Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA), an AKC Approved CGC Evaluator, a Certified Trick Dog Instructor (CTDI), a Catch Certified Dog Trainer (CCDT), and a GoodPup Certified Trainer (GCT) with over 16 years of experience with different training techniques, all kinds of dog breeds and ages, and even training experience with other species beyond dogs, they are highly-credentialed and very knowledgeable about all kinds of training.

They have always had a passion for animal behavior and training and in 2022 received their Master's of Science in Anthrozoology, the study of human-animal relationships, with a focus on service dogs and their human partners. They are also a service dog partner themselves, currently training their fourth service dog.

They bring all of their knowledge and experience to dog training, so that they can help all folks create lasting relationships with their dogs through reward-based dog training, help folks train their own service dogs to their unique needs, and help increase the understanding and acceptance of service dogs and their human partners.

Trick Training and Titles

Many dogs need extra stimulation and energy release and tricks can be a great way to do that. Tricks can also be a great way to help your dog focus if they always seem to need to be doing something. And, of course, tricks are a great way to help increase the communication between you and your dog, too!

From simple tricks like spin to more complicated tricks like rolling up in a blanket, Sirius can help you and your dog reach whatever lofty goals you set!

You can also title your dog from the AKC and/or Do More With Your Dog (DMWYD), from Novice Trick Dog all the way up to Trick Dog Elite Performer / Trick Dog Champion, so you can pair working with your dog with titles to prove just how well trained your dog is!

Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Training & Testing

If you're interested in having your dog do therapy work (like going to hospitals), showing your dog's capabilities with titles, or even getting discounts on your insurance, then looking into CGC training may be for you!

The AKC offers many titles for well-trained dogs, starting with the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy title, moving on to the CGC title, and then progressing to the AKC Community Canine and/or Urban CGC titles.

Sirius is an AKC CGC Evaluator and, while we can't currently offer AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy titling, we can offer titling for CGC, CGCA, and CGCU, as well as training to pass those tests. Schedule your free consultation to get started today!

Service Dog Presentations

Sirius first trained a service dog (for themselves) in 2008 and has since trained many successful service dog teams, so they have a lot of experience as a service dog trainer and as a service dog partner.

If you would like a presentation for a school group, a medical business, or a dog training business, Sirius will create a custom presentation for you, based on your needs.

Other Dog Training

Sirius has been training dogs for many years as well as getting their Master's in the study of human-animal relationships, so if you have other dog training needs, they can help!

They are available to help with potty training (even older dogs!), obedience, anxiety, and more.
