CPDT-KA, M.S. Anthrozoology, CTDI, CCDT, GCT, AKC Approved CGC Evaluator
I am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA), an AKC Approved CGC Evaluator, a Certified Trick Dog Instructor (CTDI), a Catch Certified Dog Trainer (CCDT), and a GoodPup Certified Trainer (GCT) with over 16 years of experience with different training techniques, all kinds of dog breeds and ages, and even training experience with other species beyond dogs. I have always had a passion for animal behavior and training and in 2022 received my Master's of Science (MS) in Anthrozoology, the study of human-animal relationships, with my focus on service dogs and their human partners, especially those with invisible disabilities.
I am also a service dog partner myself, currently training my fourth service dog. I bring all of my knowledge and experience to this blog as well as to you, as a dog trainer, so that I can help increase the understanding and acceptance of service dogs and their human partners as well as help all folks create lasting relationships with their dogs through reward-based dog training. I also want to advocate for those who struggle to stand up for themselves.
If you are interested in contacting me as a dog trainer, please see the services I offer and feel free to reach out via our contact form or email at info@doggystars.dog.
Perseus "Percy" Titan
Partially-Retired Service Dog
Percy was born in Sept. 2018 and brought home at 7 weeks old. He has been trained almost completely by me, though other trainers have also participated in his training. He is being partially retired as his anxieties have gotten worse as he's gotten older and we want to make sure that he's comfortable, though the current treatment has been helping him immensely.
Quetzalcoatl "Quet"
Service Dog in Training
Quet was born in May 2025 and has been hard at work learning what he will need to know as a service dog as well as learning to be brave in any situation (he's already very good at that!). You can follow along with his journey by going to his TikTok through our LinkTree.
Hero
Family Pet
Hero was born in Nov. 2018 and was originally with another family while I acted as their trainer. Unfortunately, Hero has icthyosis and his main handler started developing terrible allergy problems, so they had to rehome him. We took him in, hoping that he might be able to continue his training as a service dog, but it was decided that he should be washed out due to his skin problem, so he now lives a comfy life as my wife's dog.
Orion
Passed Away 2022
Orion was born in July 2015 at a service dog training facility I was working at. He learned quickly and was briefly a service dog before being retired while young due to bad hips and knees. We unfortunately lost him suddenly in July 2022, just weeks after his 7th birthday, but he is still remembered with love.
